I moved to [Wild Equine] 6 months ago following a month schooling livery there, after I had reached rock bottom with my oversized, grumpy 6 year old mare and almost sold her. The difference in her and me after just four weeks was incredible, it made me realise just how important it is to surround yourself with the right kind of help when you’re juggling a horse with a family and work. Mel and Mark have been a constant support and encouragement to me, even when I contemplated selling Molly. Their quiet and calm approach is helping transform us from two battling angry females to a harmonious partnership.
Previously I have had juggled DYI or assisted livery, which has been a constant strain with a demanding job and family. Mainly because I have worried about trusting my difficult, stressy mare to someone else, even though this meant I was never able to offer her a proper routine, which has undoubtedly contributed to her anxiety. However, Mel and Mark’s calm and consistent approach has filled me with complete trust and has totally transformed Molly’s behaviour. Molly is happier than she has ever been and with a routine that suits her. The care she receives is second to none, and knowing she is so well looked after allows me the time I need to focus on work and my family.
There is a lovely friendly and welcoming atmosphere around the yard. Before moving here I struggled with so many ‘horsey’ things on my own, like clipping and getting feeding right etc, but Mel and Mark are always on hand to help and offer advice with literally everything, nothing is too much trouble. Having both also juggled serious careers with serious competing they are totally understanding and supportive of the difficulties and pressures of coping with it all.

Dear Mel & Mark
I would like to thank you so much for all the hard work you put into parky without you're help I would have given up on her.
The transformation is amazing & a joy to ride once again.
Who would have thought I would now be doing Dressage on her, we have done a intro & prelim at BCA & she was an angel really settled & calm, before she came to you she spent most of her time on her hind legs & not listening to anything that I asked of her.
Also her jumping is coming on leaps and bounds I even took her to Blenheim fun ride & had the most fun on her than I have had for a long time.
Looking forward to many more events on her & hacking with confidence with a smile on my face!! :)
So once again Thank you.
Ps I would also like to book some lessons with you so I can keep up the GREAT work that you have done.
Kind Regards Graeme
When I started having problems with my 15.3 thoroughbred gelding, I was advised he would never be any good show jumping or X-country and should sell him on as a dressage horse. I was so disappointed that I decided to seek a second opinion. Mark and Mel Wilder had just moved to the area, so I sent my horse to them for a week's livery, so they could try him out and give me their opinion. By the end of the week, Mark was jumping up to 4 ft and my horse was looking happy and relaxed. It was like he'd gone to a finishing school for horses. I was amazed and relieved. I have since gone on to have regular lessons with Mel, who has completely turned my riding around.
We have gone from not being able to jump a cross pole on the floor to thoroughly enjoying one day events, x-country clinics and just generally having fun. Mel is a super instructor, very sympathetic and brilliant at translating all apsects of riding. I can't thank them enough!
